What is Simar Quartz?+
Simar Quartz is a decorative epoxy flooring brand. The CG-09 Epoxy Flooring Kit is a two-component, high-gloss system for indoor concrete and cement floors.
What is included in the kit?+
The retail kit includes the main epoxy container, Part A — Epoxy Colored-Sand Base, Part B — Epoxy Hardener, decorative CG-09 light gray, dark-speckled material, an application roller, the supplied application tools and accessories, and an installation instruction booklet.
Does the kit include application tools?+
Yes. Application accessories, including an application roller, are included in the retail kit. They are part of the package, not optional extras.
Does the kit include primer?+
No. Primer is not included. The supplier does not offer primer as part of this product line. Do not assume a separate primer is compatible; follow the approved installation instructions for your substrate.
Can I apply it to concrete?+
Concrete and cement floors are the recommended substrates. The floor must be structurally sound, clean, dry, properly prepared, and free of loose material.
Can I use it in my garage?+
Indoor garages are a potential application on suitably prepared concrete or cement. Confirm suitability for your actual service conditions and loads before use; no specific hot-tire or load rating is provided here.
Can it be used outdoors?+
No. Simar Quartz is intended for indoor use only. UV resistance is not claimed, and exposure to direct sunlight may cause yellowing.
Is it waterproof?+
The coating is water-resistant, not waterproof. It is not intended for long-term standing water or to resolve moisture issues in a substrate.
How much material do I need?+
Theoretical consumption is 2 kg per square meter. Multiply the floor area in square meters by 2, then round up to whole kits. Actual consumption varies with roughness, surface conditions, and application thickness. Use the coverage calculator to plan.
What is the mixing ratio?+
Mix Part A and Part B at 8:1 by weight. Do not measure by volume, dilute the product, or add solvents. The enclosed instructions govern preparation and mixing.
How long does it take to cure?+
Full cure is approximately 7 days at 25°C / 77°F. Full chemical-resistant performance is reached after full cure. Walk-on, recoat, and heavy-load times are not provided here; consult approved product instructions.
Can I apply it over existing flooring?+
Compatibility with existing coatings, tile, wood, or other flooring has not been confirmed here. The recommended substrates are concrete and cement. Seek product-specific guidance before coating an existing finish.
How do I prepare the surface?+
Inspect the floor, remove contaminants and loose material, grind and clean the surface appropriately, repair imperfections, and verify application conditions. Structural damage must be resolved separately. See the full installation guide.
What safety equipment should I use?+
Use suitable protective gloves and eye protection, provide adequate ventilation, and avoid direct skin contact with uncured components. Select protective equipment according to the product-specific Safety Data Sheet and the tasks being performed. Low odor does not mean hazard-free.
